Battlefield: Bad Company TipsWeapon Unlock Advice for Xbox 360 and PS3 Battlefield Video Game
Effective use of weapon unlocks and alternate gold crate destruction strategies can lead to increased experience and more kills in Battlefield: Bad Company's "Gold Rush.
Battlefield: Bad Company for Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 is one of the premier online shooters available for video game consoles. The online “Gold Rush” mode is a compelling and addictive take on the sandbox-style first-person shooter. Many basic first-person shooter tactics apply to Battlefield: Bad Company, but the game’s wide-open nature has introduced the necessity for innovative new strategies. There are many ways to utilize the opportunities provided by the game’s Frostbite engine and unique class system on the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3. Here are a few basic strategies to help players contribute to the team while improving kill count and experience point gain. Battlefield: Bad Company Weapon Unlocks:As players gain levels in Battlefield: Bad Company's online game, they earn credits that can be used to unlock special weapons and tools for use by the game’s five classes. To maximize the effectiveness of each loadout, spend the first five unlock points on the special weapon for each class: syringe for assault, anti-tank mines for demolition, laser designator for sniper, C4 for specialist, and mortar strike for support. Player should start with the class they play most, of course, but get all five unlocked as quickly as possible. Without the laser designator, for example, a sniper is completely defenseless against enemy vehicles on the battlefield. Once it’s unlocked, however, a single well-hidden sniper can have a devastating effect on the enemy’s armor and, by extension, their advance or defense. After the initial five unlocks, it’s a good idea for Battlefield trophy collectors to unlock the weapons with individual trophies like the M16 and UMP. Those less interested in collecting should explore the weapons available for their favorite class. Battlefield: Bad Company Crate Destruction:Most defenders with at least some idea of how Battlefield: Bad Company is played will react quickly to a message that a bomb has been planted on one of their crates. Defending a planted charge solo while most of the enemy team is rushing in is no picnic. Defenders tend to ignore messages about attacks on the crates, however, and most don’t pay any attention to the health bars. Use their inattention against them by attacking the crate directly rather than planting a bomb. Plant multiple C4 charges as a specialist and then detonate them all at once to take the crate to less than half health. Damage the crate from afar with your RPG when playing demolition or toss grenades near it when playing the assault class. Tanks are also very useful for this type of Battlefield tactic. On “Harvest Day,” for example, it is quite possible to drive a tank from the attackers’ initial base up the river and around the defenders’ base without being seen. Position the tank within view of the building housing the rear crate, and then blast a hole through the wall. Attack the crate directly with the tank’s main gun to take its health down very quickly. Often, a strategic player can destroy an objective without the defenders even noticing. When facing more astute defensive teams on the battlefield, a passenger manning the tank’s machine gun can be very useful for taking out curious enemy infantry. These two basic strategies can go a long way toward increasing personal effectiveness on the battlefield. By utilizing each class’ special weapons and attacking gold crates directly instead of planting charges, new Battlefield: Bad Company players can increase their experience gain and become an invaluable asset to their team. Battlefield: Bad Company is available for Xbox 360 and Playstation 3.
