Get Extra Lives on Nintendo DS' Version of the Mario Game

The newest version of Super Bros. is fun and challenging. While there, players will need all the extra lives they can get.

When playing Super Mario Bros. on Nintendo DS, higher levels can prove to be more challenging and more costly in terms of lives. While players can always go back to level 1-1 to get extra lives being super huge and crashing through it, they can also capitalize on the three green houses in worlds 5 and 6.

Get up to 14 Extra Lives at Green Mushroom Houses

Players who have defeated Bowser and his colleagues up to this level should be very familiar with the different mushroom houses that Mario encounters for bonuses, such as extra lives, flower power, and super huge mushrooms.

World 5 offers one green house for extra lives with six mystery boxes to hit. Five of the six contain extra lives, and one contains a Bowser card. When the Bowser card is hit, the party's over.

The Bowser card is in box four (counting from left to right) in world 5. When in world 6, there are two green houses. In the first one, the Bowser card is located in the sixth mystery box (located to the far right). The second house has a Bowser card in the second box.

Don't Forget Mario Can Still Get Extra Lives the Old Fashioned Way

It may not be very fun to work for extra lives when cheat articles are all over the web, but there is a secret to hard work. It works. Plus, working hard can help maximize the lives needed to defeat Bowser and save Princess Peach.

Mario can obtain extra lives by gaining 100 coins. This can be done faster by not jumping to strike the multiple coin boxes. When approaching such boxes, all Mario has to do is get on top of the bricks and crash upon it. This is done by jumping and pressing down. Mario will flip in the air and land on the box as though he was striking it continuously. The result will be 13 coins and a bonus mushroom.

In addition to this, clearing the flagpoles when completing levels will grant Mario an extra life.

When all else fails, Mario can always return to level 1-1, crash through it, and get up to five lives in dire times.

Playing Super Mario Bros. on Nintendo DS can be a lot of fun either alone, or with the family. Extra lives will help Mario defeat Bowser, making it even better.
