Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots was released for the PS3 in June of 2008. It is a stealth action game in the single player and multiplayer modes, rated M by the ESRB. It is the seventh Metal Gear game released.
This release came 20 years after Metal Gear and 10 years after Metal Gear Solid. It has received tremendous reviews. For the PS3 these are the cheat codes and unlockables that can be used in the game.
Face Paint
Getting face paint in the game will give a few different looks to have. This is how to get them all.
- Laughing Octopus – Player will need to defeat the human form Battle Beauty Laughing Octopus by a method that is not lethal.
- Young Snake and Young Snake with Bandana - Beat Act Two for these.
- Crying Wolf – Player needs to defeat the human form Battle Beauty Crying Wolf by a method that is not lethal.
- Classic Metal Gear Solid Snake - Beat Act Three.
- Raging Raven – The player will need to defeat the human form Battle Beauty Raging Raven by a method that is not lethal.
- Face Camo – The player will need to defeat the Battle Beauty Laughing Octopus.
- Screaming Mantis – The player will need to defeat the human form Battle Beauty Screaming Mantis by a method that is not lethal.
- Drebin – The gamer will need to keep, after purchasing, 60 different weapons.
- Big Boss's - On a single player session, earn the big boss emblem.
- Otacon - During the intermission scene, Ram Dr. Emmerich using the Metal Gear II.
- Roy Campbell - During the intermission scene, Ram Colonel Campbell using the Metal Gear II.
- Raiden Mask #1 -During the intermission scene, Ram Sunny using Metal Gear II.
- Raiden Mast #2 - During the intermission scene, Ram Dr. Naomi Hunter using Metal Gear II.
Weapons
One can get bonus weaponry by unlocking it in the game. This is how a player can earn the bonus weapons.
- The Rail Gun – The player must beat Crying Wolf.
- MGL-140 Grenade Launcher - Beat Raging Raven.
- MK 23 Handgun – The player must find it in the first area of Act Four.
- WWI pistol - On a single player session, earn the hound emblem.
- Desert eagle, long barrel gun - On a single player session, earn the fox emblem.
- Thor 45-70 - On a single player session, earn the fox hound emblem.
- Patriot Future Assault Weapon - On a single player session, earn the big boss emblem.
- Race Gun (Ricochet) - Finish a single player game.
- Solar Gun - Using non fatal means on their respective idols, collect the five statues.
- Scanning Plug S - Get more than 10 hours of Metal Gear Online play time from the same profile as the Metal Gear 4 game. Buy it from Drebin.
There are a good and plentiful amount of unlockables in the game, plenty to go around. Find out what is out there, and grab hold to as many as possible.
