Survival horror / action game Resident Evil 5's Mercenaries Mode pits 1-2 players inside a small level, rewarding a high score for surviving long lengths of time and defeating numerous enemies at a time for big combo bonuses.
Jill Valentine Battle Suit is unlocked by achieving an A+ on Ship Deck, Stage 7 (40,000 points single-player, 80,000 Co-op). Mercenaries is unlocked by playing through the single-player / co-op campaign mode.

The following is a list of all the weapons, equipment, and supplies Jill Valentine carries at the start of the match.
- VZ61 Machine Gun - 100 power, 300 ammo clip, 2.83 sec reload, 37.5% critical
- H&K PSG-1 Rifle - 1,200 power, 9 clip, 1.7 sec reload
- 150 machine gun bullets ammo box
- 30 rifle bullets ammo box
- Hand Grenades x3
- Herb (green + green)
Jill Valentine receives two weapons (machine gun, rifle), hand grenades, some ammunition, and two green herbs combined.
Jill Valentine RE5 Equipment Guide
This equipment set should look very familiar, as it's almost the exact same setup as Sheva Alomar (BSAA), except without the handgun.
Comparing the two, Sheva and Jill's machine guns are almost identical, both have the same stats all around, except Jill's has slightly more ammo capacity (300 instead of 260), so Jill's machine gun is slightly better.
As for Rifle comparisons, Jill has a better scope and quicker reload, but slightly less ammo per clip and it deals 100 less damage per bullet. The 100 less firepower is only a deal breaker on the Experimental Facility level, since it fails to kill lickers in one bullet.
Jill Valentine also receives hand grenades - useful for stunning bosses and taking out groups of enemies - and a double green herb just in case.
Mercenaries High Score Hints and Tips for Jill Valentine
Jill Valentine Battle Suit is a bit of a let-down. She is one of the more difficult characters to unlock in The Mercenaries, and has an equipment set almost identical to one of the starting characters - Sheva Alomar BSAA.
Even still, for those who like Sheva Alomar BSAA, Jill Valentine Battle Suit offers up a more focused equipment set. She starts with a large amount of ammo for both the rifle and the machine gun. The hand grenades also come in handy against boss characters when there isn't a moment to spare to take out the rifle.
As already mentioned, Sheva Alomar BSAA is the superior character to choose for the Experimental Facility level, as that extra 100 firepower comes in handy against the lickers. In every other level, however, it's all a toss-up, and players should really just choose whichever character has the more comfortable feel for the rifle.
Just like Sheva BSAA, Jill Battle Suit should use the machine gun to damage opponents and try to finish them off with melee strikes for +5 time bonuses. Sweeping at the knees and legs with machine gun rounds will cause a large group of enemies to either kneel down or fall to the ground, setting up kick or a double-knee drop.
At a distance, the rifle should be Jill's primary weapon of choice, particularly so when playing co-op, as her partner can keep them off her while she snipes at a distance and builds up the combo.
Jill Valentine in Co-op play
For snipe-happy players, combining Jill Valentine Battle Suit with Sheva Alomar BSAA will ensure numerous rifle ammo drops, and players can take turns switching between long-range sniping and close-range machine gun shots. When a boss appears (if there is an opportunity) doubling up with rifles can take any boss down in very little time.
Clubbin Sheva works well too, but only for players who can get used to her bolt-action rifle. Other than that, Jill Valentine Battle Suit pairs well with her BSAA costume character. They can share machine gun ammo, and the flashbangs will help with eliminating parasites and to stun large groups of enemies. Chris STARS is another good co-op partner, sharing machine gun rounds, and assisting against boss characters with a magnum, and fending off large groups with the grenade launcher.
The best help for Jill Valentine Battle Suit is simply to stand guard for her while she snipes foes from a safe corner or platform with her rifle.
RE5 Mercenaries Jill Valentine Conclusion
Jill Valentine Battle Suit is a prime choice for players who love to use the rifle, but unfortunately, she doesn't have much else going for her. She has a little less versatility than other characters with a rifle because she only carries two weapons. So anyone who wants to play Jill Valentine Battle Suit better learn to use the rifle in intense situations.
Jill Valentine Battle Suit is the perfect candidate for unlocking Sheva Alomar Clubbin Outfit, since The Village contains numerous straightaways ideal for sniping.
