Often thought of as an overpowered class, the Demoman can be deadly when played correctly. Here are some tips for the Demoman in Team Fortess 2!
This article is part of a series. Take a look at other tips for the Sniper, the Heavy and the Scout! The Demoman is one of the few classes left to get their update in Valve's fantastic online shooter, Team Fortress 2. Some may argue that this is because he is already incredibly well-equipped to handle anything that comes his way. This is certainly possible as the Demoman is a versatile fighter that can defend and attack effectively when played well. A foolish Demoman will die just as quickly as anyone else, however, so be sure to follow these tips to make the most out of your time playing this class in TF2. Bomb TrappingBomb trapping is one of the techniques that any player will pick up quite quickly when playing as the Demoman. The basic premise is to use the stickybomb launcher to hide bombs at chokepoints or points of interest, thereby creating a guaranteed kill when the enemy passes by.
Grenade FlushingThe Demo's primary weapon in TF2 is his grenade launcher. This weapon has 4 shots and each one will bounce in random directions before blowing up. They will trigger automatically if they hit an enemy player. Using this weapon to flush out enemies from strongholds is a great strategy.
Stickybomb OffenseThe Demo's secondary weapon is the stickybomb launcher. One feature of this gun that is often overlooked is the ability to hold down the button before firing a shot, extending the reach of the gun. This can be used to great effect.
With these techniques at one's disposal, the Demoman will be an effective adversary indeed. No matter what the map is or role of your team, the Demoman can adapt to the situation and provide excellent damage and control in the face of the opposition.
